I'm sure most of us here are pretty intelligent and have done a lot of online purchasing, but I just want to post up a reminder. Recently (as in yesterday) I put my GT up on eBay to see if it would sell any quicker and I have already had three scamming attempts. The first one almost got me, although I sensed something fishy right from the get-go. I kind of got excited that someone was going to pay full price almost immediately so that sort of clouded my judgement for a bit but thankfully I was smart enough to call PayPal to verify any transactions and sure enough they informed me it was a scamming attempt.

-most scammers will not have any phone conversations
-emails from paypay.co.uk are bogus
-transactions involving Western Union are most likely scams
-don't click any links in the emails (check where the address is sending you to)

It's better to be safe then sorry so if it seems fishy then it probably is.
