I'm looking at buying a good daily driver over the summer. 10 mpg just won't cut it these days. I'm looking to spend anywhere from $2k to $12k depending how good of value the vehicle is. I just need some ideas cause there are so many options out there I never really considered. I really only pay attention to the v8's, but with gas prices these days I'm gonna have to let go of my ego heh. The main things I want in the car is a manual, sporty look, and not a 4 cyl. if possible.

You're my kind of driver father. It took me quite a while to find a car since I wanted the manual too. The main things I was looking at for good mileage were used Civics, BMW 3 series, and Audi A4s. They are all pretty nice looking, and the V6 in the Beamer gets 25-30mpg interstate.

Now that I have the bimmer you can buy my old car. It gets pretty gewd mileage

1990 mostly red Mazda 626
417,000 miles
4 cylinder with 5spd manual
Lots and lots of rust
Has a wicked sick idling problem when the engine is cold

:D

third gen. VW golf or jetta vr6. good power nice looking. A4's and the 3 series are bomb but if your buying something used your bound to have to fix shit and parts for those are outrageous. If you buy a civic i will just laugh and t-bag you. The only jap cars i would recommend are nissan and subaru but for your price range they dont have much to offer.

If you can find a TDI VW that would be the best route... They get insane gas millage. It is hard to say. If you have cash I can get you about anything for 12k, but you would have to drive to Indiana to get it. One of the largest new/used car auctions is in Plainfield Indiana and I have a personal friend that brokers cars. For an example I can get you a 2008 Chevy Impala fully loaded: Leather, power everything, sun-roof, onstar, etc... with less than 15K miles for $11,000 all day. You can pick the color since they generally have 50 every week. They literally have 500-1000 cars they auction weekly from every make and model. I can get you a super nice car for cheap.

Yeah I was really lookin into the A4's but i figured that if anything broke I would be screwed. I might check out of some 3 series and see what they're goin for. The only American cars that I've looked at are the Focus SVT and Cobalt SS but they are still a little pricey for the amount of miles on them.
