I'm looking into buying a new gaming mouse because the 2-button, scroll wheel, ball mouse that came with my Dell computer that I've been using for the 5 years that I've gamed just doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore, lol. My questions to all of you are: what mouse do you use? what gaming mouse would you suggest for me to buy? I've stuck with a ball mouse all these years because it is what I've gotten use to. I like the weight of it, and the low sensitivity because it gives me control for proper aiming. So keeping that in mind, please make your suggestions accordingly. I've tried a few laser mouses, but none of them were gaming. It takes a bit for me to get use to the faster speed of a laser mouse, but they're so light and I end up picking them up and moving them because that's what I'm use to doing with my ball mouse. Anyway, suggestions please.

Razer FTW. Note: I am the only one here who says this, everybody else is a Logitech whore.

Well, not to be a follower, but I've been doing some reading and comparing of the razer mice vs the logitech, and I think I am leaning towards getting the Logitech G5 because it seems like a solid and reliable mouse.
Unless anyone would suggest another logitech mouse OR tell me why Razer would be a better choice...

I've used Logitech mice before but having used a razer mouse I dunno if I could go back. They'd have to come out with a mouse that felt like plastic orgasms for me to switch.

I've got 2 more in box extra for if this one breaks cause I was scared they'd discontinue the line....and I was right I can hardly find them anywhere on shelves anymore.

Ditto on the Razer DeathAdder. It's the best mouse I've ever used.
If you're concerned about sensitivity differences between ball and optical/laser mice, know that you can set many settings in the driver control panel for most mice to customize it to your liking. This is especially true of all Razer mice.

I've got a Diamondback and love it. I used to use one of the old school ball Boomslangs, and I want one of the limited edition ones so bad. Just too broke to buy a $100 mouse.

As far as comfort goes, I've been reading a few articles, and most of the razers are for gamers that put their whole palm on the mouse, while the G5 is for gamers that have a raised palm and keep their fingers on the mouse, which is how I play.
I'm going tomorrow to get the G5 from best Buy, and if I don't like it I'll return it. Any of these gaming mouses will be a big upgrade from my 5 year old ball mouse, lol.

Yeah if you get one from BB there will be no probs returning it if you don't like it. I'm not sure about the others who own Razer mice but I'm like you and use my fingers to move the mouse not so much my whole hand/palm/wrist. The palm thing I would maybe say to be true with the classic Razer styles and maybe if their new mouse, but the deathadder's style is pretty different than most Razer mice. It reminds me more of a Logitech design than a Razer design. In a nutshell, if that is your playing style you might want to feel the Deathadder when you go to BB today and you'll see what I mean about it being diff than most Razers.

Yeah, if they have other ones, I'm going to try them out. Like I said, if I don't like it after a few days I could always just return it, so it isn't a big deal.
Also, I'm right-handed, and I think the Logitech will fit me more comfortably because they are made for righties, while the Razers are ambidextrious.

I bought the G5 today at Best Buy for $50, and so far I'm loving it. I'm getting use to the optical little by little. The mouse is very responsive, and a lot better then my old mouse. I'm not getting outclicked as much anymore.
Not to mention, the added weight feature is nice and gives the mouse the feel of a ball mouse with the added weight.
No complaints thus far.

Like whiz mentioned, the DeathAdder doesn't really require you to use your fingertips to move it around. I use my whole hand and palm the mouse without any problems whatsoever.
Anyway, enjoy your new mouse.
