Here's something I've been following for a while that I can see being very useful for one who uses their computer for a wide variety of tasks. It may not be as beneficial for those who use their rigs exclusively for gaming, but it still has quite the cool factor going for it.
Introducing the Optimus Keyboard. Weighing in with a price tag of $1,490 USD, this peripheral will definitely turn some heads at your next LAN party. So what makes the keyboard so unique? Try having 114 keys, each with its own individual LCD screen that can be configured to display a graphic of your choosing. Furthermore, the keyboard can be setup to use specific profiles depending on the program you are using. Needless to say, your days of forgetting which key activates the eyedropper tool in Photoshop are over. Also, as if the above weren't enough, said profiles can be saved to the keyboard's own internal memory for customized keyboarding on the go.
Though launching at a moderately high price, it's not hard to see how innovative and ultimately beneficial such a product can be. Inevitably improving the workflow of anyone that uses a computer, one can only hope that such technology is adopted as a standard in one way or another in the near future.
