Okay so i decided not to buy a 32" HDTV and entertainment center for my room and instead am upgrading my PC. I already have a good power supply and sound card, and am just keeping my current hard drive.

Here it is on NewEgg (you may need to login to view it).

What I am not sure about is the motherboard. Can I get a better one for cheaper? Also, I'm pretty sure running SLI with those grapics cards would be better than buying this...

But what do you think?

Depending on my budget I may or may not include the blue-ray player and graphics card at the moment. If I do get a new card, I will sell my current one. It's an EVGA 8800GTS 320MB Superclocked, I paid $300 not even a year ago (sucks I know). I will sell for $85 shipped.

Side note, anyone know if it's easy to hook up a PS3 and play it through my computer monitor and speakers?

I have an Asus P5 that I really really like. Its SLI and supports intel core 2 duo and c2d quad.

I've had horrible experience with Gigabyte, so do me a favor and stay away from them.

I'd recommend anything by Asus or Abit.

I've had my current Asus mobo for about 3 years and have had zero issues so i don't play on buying a different brand.

Looks like a good buy also. The layout of that board is a little funky but probably not a huge deal really.

Well what I was referring to was the physical layout of the board. For instance, it looks like if you had longer than average PCI cards, you'd cut off some of your SATA controllers. The other was just a personal thing...I hate it when they put the power connector for the PSU right behind an ribbon connection.

But like I said, the chances of this degrading the quality of the board is slim.

As far as hooking your PS3 up to your computer, I suggest plugging directly into your monitor. If you try to run it through a TV tuner card or through your graphics card, it'll likely introduce lag to your button presses.

I'm sure someone makes a DVI cable for the PS3, or if your monitor supports it you could use HDMI. For audio you might need to split the signal before it reaches your monitor, unless it has audio output (for use with HDMI, which some do--a DVI cable will likely split the audio into the red and white RCA plugs). You could run the audio through a secondary sound card (onboard, through the microphone input with a 2-1 stereo converter) on your computer if you wanted to use the same set of speakers or headphones for your PS3 that you use for your PC.
